Little Folkies Family Classes are joyful, interactive music classes for children ages 0–5 & their grown-ups.
Rooted in the American folk music tradition, classes bring children and caregivers together through singing, movement, rhythm, storytelling, and live acoustic instruments.
No musical experience is necessary—just come ready to sing, move, play, and have fun together!
ABOUT LITTLE FOLKIES
Little Folkies is an original early childhood folk music program created by singer-songwriter
and music educator Irena Eide.
At the heart of the program is a collection of original and traditional-style folk songs inspired by the seasons, nature, family, animals, imagination,
and childhood.
The Little Folkies Songs for Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter collection is released by Smithsonian Folkways Recordings and forms the foundation of the Little Folkies curriculum.
Classes are led by trained Little Folkies teachers and are intentionally mixed-age, allowing children from birth through age 5 and siblings at different developmental stages to enjoy the music together.

Songs for Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter
The complete Little Folkies collection, released by Smithsonian Folkways, includes four beautifully illustrated seasonal songbooks, sheet music for every song, four accompanying CDs, and original illustrations by Amelia Heron.
The songs are the heart of the Little Folkies curriculum, so families can listen, sing, and play the music between classes and throughout the year.

THE LITTLE FOLKIES EXPERIENCE
Each Little Folkies class is filled with opportunities to sing, listen, move, play, and connect through Little Folkies songs, live acoustic instruments, movement and dancing, rhythm and musical games, fingerplays and hand motions, storytelling and imaginative play, seasonal songs inspired by nature, and hands-on instrument and sound exploration.Children are welcome to participate in their own way. Some may sing and dance, while others watch, wander, cuddle, or simply listen.
Parents and caregivers are part of the experience too! Grown-ups are encouraged to sing, clap, move, and participate alongside their children.
CLASS RATES
10-week Little Folkies Session: $280 per child
Full-session enrollment is the best way to experience Little Folkies. Consistent attendance gives children time to become familiar with the songs, teacher, other families, and class routine.
Classes pro-rated weekly: $28
Families are welcome to join an ongoing session when space is available. Tuition is prorated at $28 per remaining class.
Drop-In Classes: $35 per child, per class
Drop-ins are welcome when space permits. Advance registration is recommended.
Sibling Discount: 20% off
Babies under 6 months attend free when enrolled with an older sibling.
